Joan lived in Los Angeles, California for nearly thirty years when she and her family decided it was time to move to the Sierra Foothills and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle outdoors. Joan found community in Somerset through the West Slope Foundation as an attendee of the West Slope Foundation Disaster Preparedness Workshops. The organization is an invaluable resource that has not only helped my family but has helped many other families to become better prepared in the event of a disaster.  Joan is honored to be an Executive/Program Assistant for an organization that continues to assist those subjected to the Caldor fire and build a strong community in the Western Slope of El Dorado County. ​ 

West Slope Foundation is pleased to have Joan on the Team. Having owned a business for 10 years, she brings to the organization great time-management and organizational skills.  She also has experience as an educator, working well with large groups and on a one-on-one basis.  This is a skill that will be extremely valuable as West Slope Foundation continues to grow.
